solid help

Hi everybody

I created a part in solid and want to provide a 82 deg c-sink on the hole. What option will best suites to give the 82 c-sink.

Is these ways to provide the x-sections views in solid to see the more details of the features.

You can do a solid chamfer. You should already have the hole in the solid. You can specify edge selection, and pick the edge of the top of the hole. You can specify and angle and width. It doesn't have to be a 45.

Drawing shows chmf dia with 82 deg. If I go with solid,chmf, distance and chmf angle menu option than I have to do math to calculate the distance. Which option shows the chmf dia with angle?

Yea, doing math really ruins my day. So that I can double my math capabilities, they let me wear sandals to work. Maybe in X5 we can get a combination math/coffee toolbar that accepts verbal commands, that way we don't have to touch the mouse, keyboard, calculator, or get up out of seats.

Another easy way to do it is after your hole is in, chamfer by doing an extrude-cut. Draw a circle at the dia of your chamfer, then extrude - cut body - through all - set draft angle to 41 (half the included angle from the print) - draft inward. Very little brain power required.

That, I like. Just hope they call out a dia. intead of a depth.

If depth called out, create curve top edge of hole, Xform-translate to depth, solid extrude draft outward.
