Surface/ballnose question

Purdy simple(dumb)question: I'm cutting a small (2"*2") 3-D part, and I would like to know how to make the tip of the cutter protrude below the edges of the part. This is of course to clean up the edges and not leave the rad of the tool on the bottom sides.

I can't use the surface contour and change comensate to tool center, because obviously it would cut to center on the whole part.

I had a contour on a part that I had to surface with limited clearance at the surface of the fixture. I used a Bullnose End Mill with a .030 Radius and Extended the surface enough to get tangent to the edge of the part without hitting the fixture. Hope that helps.

Just put in the min z height in the steep shallow.

 

So the bot of your part + 1/2 your cutter plus , say .05"
