X4 can not select 1 of 4 imported solid bodys

Importing a SW 2009 file with 6 separate solid bodies I delete 2 that I do not need and the main body I can not select except on the Solids tab?

 

in SolidWorks it says that the body in question has some bad edges... perhaps that is the problem ??? MC has never gave me a problem importing before.

 

First time I have had this problem.. even with "dirty" solidworks bodies ....

 

Any Ideas ??? convert to Parasolid maybe ??

I always convert to parasolid in SW before exporting to MC. Works everytime. I know, there's the MC direct thing. Never worked good for me though.

Try saving, shutting mastercam down, open up and retry.

Tried the save>shutdown>restart MC> Open

 

still no go.

 

Saved as a Parasolid tried in both X3 and X4 still can not select either faces or entire main solid.

 

loaded the Parasolid back into SW2009.... Ran the Import diagnostics...

 

Found the Two faulty faces... Repaired... saved as Solidworks file... imported into X4...

Now I can select the Main solid...

 

 

So must be the faulty faces made MC act funny

 

anyway... back to work.

That's what it sounds like to me. I've seen/heard of that happening a couple times.
