toolpath type problems

I like the X4 tree style in general, but when I use "toolpath type" to change from simple 2d contour to pocket or vice versa, everything including linking parameters reverts back to the last contour, or whatever it was that I switched to. It changes the tool as well. I thought this would be a nice feature, but it's more trouble than it's worth.

 

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

Its there to save you time in geometry selection.

I can just drag and replace geometry. Wouldn't it be a better idea to retain the tool and linking values, at least?

 

Seems like the idea is to save the operation, but you end up re-writing the whole thing anyway.

I guess that Is another master bug in master cam.

The whole idea for this tree style dialog was

to save time, but it takes even longer.

if u want to change from one tool path type to another all your parameter will change including the tool and tool plane. once you set those you have to close the window and come back to pick linking parameter.

There is a restore default button you can click on the upper left. give that a try
