IMPORTED LIBRARY OPPERATION WRONG NC NAME

I have used opperation librarys sine MC V8.1.

to customize MC for clients who need 1000s of one

off parts that have similar details.

In system configuration / toolpath manager : nc filename is set to "toolpath groop name". this has always worked well. In X4 mu1 the 1st Opperation imported always has wrong nc filename, subsequent opperation are good. This cuases it to post as 2 programs. The obvious work around is to rename offending opperations nc. filename.

Use of library operations was intended to simplify programing and increase reliability.

we can train an average employee with no machining experiance to program most of our part in only 4 days. Sooner or later some one is going to forget to rename the first opp nc file name (ten years of habbit is hard to break). and a crash will occur.

This is considered a dealbreaker to most of my clients for upgrading to X4. Wich is a shame

because dynamic planes is the answer to part manipulation we have been looking for. X4 is the poop! Best MC version since 9.1sp2 .Can we say McDonalds land programming.

P.S. tried every variation of setting in toolpath manager.

Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the forum smile.gif

May I ask what kind of parts you're building

that make such heavy use of operational libraries?

I can't think of a quick fix for tyour problem.

You should make a sample file.. use the zip2go

utility to zip it up

Email it to [email protected] along with step by step instructions on how to replicate the problem.

I have one suggestion you might try..

Close Mastercam, move your personalized config file out of the config folder and start Mastercam.

Mastercam will build a new default config file.

This has been known to fix all sorts of issues.

I have no idea if it will help with your problem,

but it will only take a couple of minutes to

find out

Thankyou for your prompt response.

I will follow your instruction and get back to you.

My primary client does factory automation

and robotics. I do all the tooling for them also.

Parts are rectangular, squared on all 6 side,

with, tapped holes, dowel pin hole, clearance holes. a complex hydralic welding fixture for CNH

may have 200 parts: singles,pairs,mirrors.

The machine always knows where vise is.

Macro in machine to locate part with mounted dowel pin.

Modified post to use machine macro.

For one man to keep spindle going. Must be able to program one part while running another.

Must be walk away reliable.

In system configuration / toolpath manager : nc filename is set to "user name" here. Its for aviod manual ncfiletransfeer to mashine.

So I having the same problem with dual postings after imported operations.

I think Iam importing 60% of all operations I make to simplify programing and increase reliability.

This importbug has been there sins X3,

New for x4mu1 is that FBM Mill does the same thing as imported operations and corses dual posts.

Ive told my men to always do a dummy drilloperation the first thing in the file and then ghost it, then future imports and other operations will be fine.
