Hello,

Short of programming the job for you, I can answer some questions for you with either V7 or V8 lathe. You didi not mention what version you are using. I strongly suggest updating to V8 if you are not familar with MC lathe.

E-mail me directly with any questions you might have. I have ran Mazaks, Okumas, Mori's, Monarch's, HAAS, Ikegai, Hitachie, and a couple more. I also teach CAD/CAM classes here and I let the students run their parts, after I check the program of course, on HAAS lathes & mills.

I don't know about good, but I'm beginning to find my way around in the lathe package.

In my opinion, v8 is the only way to go.

Also, a good post file is a necessity. We worked and worked with our supplier till we got a good post for an Okuma OSP700. He did a tremendous job in making a good post. The biggest problem was that we use canned cycles so that debugging on the machine is simpler.

I would be glad to pass on any tips or tricks that I have learned.
