HS Questions, Smotthing + Lead in/outs?

With smothing in HS Are Clearance toolpath.

I want the tool to do an arc in the 90 degree areas in X,Y.

 

 

I would have thought this would put a max rad of 22mm in the 90 degree corners?

This is a pic of backplot, I want a bigger arc in the 90 degree corners, yes this will leave extra material. I will take corners out later.

 

I don't like the small rad in the corners!!

 

 

 

 

Also in the following rest cut to clear corners the lead IN/OUT arcs are Vertical which will rub on the vertical walls.

 

 

 

 

I tried taking the Vertiacl links out and had only Horizontal leads

this created NO leads at all

Hi Chris that's only the smoothing tolerance it wont put a 22m rad into the corners.

 

 

From MC help on smothing "Max rad"

as chris said it is in the Arc Filter / Tolerance

 

there is a Toolpath fillet

you can put the radius you want to make a radius on the sharp corner, but it will make the radius on

x,y and z also

not only x,y as you want

Try increasing the profile tolerance on the smoothing page that Chris posted. Take up close to your stepover amount, that will give you a larger radius in the corners.
