lollipop cutter for golf ball mold

hi all,

i am making a golf ball mold and am trying to use a .062 lollipop cutter to clean dimples at parting line as they are undercut.we dont have 4th or 5th axis capabilities, so i am trying to do this in flat set-up,to do tip set-up would be too costly as it might turn into a 10 cavity mold,i already tried surface finish contour as suggested and tried all the setting combinations,so i would appreciate all u guys input,thanks for u help in advance....:0)

What is it that you are having a problem with? I use surface finish contour with lollipop cutters all the time without a problem.

it wont go under neath the dimple at parting line to clean the area underneath, i tried all the settings i saw in previous posts,any suggestions,i tried rough and finish surface contour,follow surface,broken....what do u use and your settings,i am using mastercam x2sp1.

make sure that it is not the containment that is not allowing the tool to undercut

what are your check surfaces set at? some times if I choose to leave even .001 on check surfaces it will not cut the undercut until I set it to zero.
