Tool file not sticking

Hey All,

 

Working on a new MD/CD & post. I have got the Operations & Defaults files to stick and load with the MD, but the .Tools file will not. It is specified in the 'General Machine Settings' tab in the MD manager, but always comes up with the defaut.tools file from another folder.

 

Gonna pull meh hair out!

Funny, I just off-topically mentioned this in another thread.

 

I just when thorough all my settingS yesterday and

fixed them and it worked on all the high speed paths. Turned on my P.C. today and some stuck but most did not.

 

All ready pulled my hair out.

 

Maybe send it in to [email protected] and see if has

been logged as a bug or if it will just continue to 'bug' us.

I hate this crap.

 

Some things are so easy to do, and yet when you want to do something simple like set this up, it can drive you up the frikken wall.

 

On a normal basis I cannot get the .Operations or .Defaults to stick and the tools do. Today its the opposite. I am happy that they are sticking, but I want it all!!!!!

what i have found is that when you select the path for the defaults,ops,etc after each selection in the files area save the CD and they seem to stick.

well.... so far anyway

Ok, so it turns out the are sticking...just not coming up for some reason unbeknownst to me.

 

If I load a Machine Def, and check the Operations Manager, Properties, Files page, it shows all the Mastercam defaults with my machine def. NOT the ones I have input.

 

If I got to REPLACE and just hit the green check, it reloads that same def and changes nothing.

 

If I go into the Machine Def. Manager and change nothing, but rather just hit the green check, 'Do you want to save', yes, 'Do you want reload this machine def' (Paraphrased), yes' And check the Ops Manager, Properties, Files page... Everything is there.

 

WHY?

when you make changes its not the current machine def in MC is it? use a default machine then make changes to the machine you want then re-load

Pardon my ignorance, but how does one edit an MD while not on that MD? Maybe that right there is my problem? /confused

when you go into the MD look for the "open folder" and open the MD you want to change then its not the active MD

/agree with Rickster.

 

Somedays I just hate my life for using software this easy. Wish my 5 year old could use it...I suppose she will have to wait until she is 6
