Inventor/mcam

Any time I am using inventor a window pops up that says preparing to install mcam x4. Installing converters? I know that they somehow will work together. Gettin a new computer tomorrow but this is driving me insane today. It pops up almost after every mouse click. Won't install says there's a problem. Anyone know how to shut this warning off? Thanks

Well the old beast is being retired. I just dealt with it to get through the night. Hope I don't have the problem with the new setup.

I have had the same problem since I installed X4 also. The installer comes up when I first start and when I do certain commands in Inventor. I've been busy so I didn't want to deal with it. it is very annoying. At least it seems to be an issue and not just my problem. If that's 2 of us I'm sure there is more

It sounds like you’ve got conflicting versions of the MCDirect and Mastercam.

 

If you're not using MCDirect inside Inventor, you should be able to remove MCDirect from the Inventor menus simply by uninstalling it.

 

Or...You can also unregister it by using a DOS Prompt. To do this, go to the folder where MCInventorAddin.DLL lives (in the “Direct” subfolder of your Mastercam install) and run “Regsvr32 /u” on it.

For example…

 

cd Mcamx4Direct

regsvr32 /u mcinventorAddin.dll

Actually the problem started when I installed Inv 11. Not Mastercam. I'll give it a try

I've had this same problem and it's asking for the MasterCam disk so it can get iformation on it that it needs. I have done this to all 9 computors since installing Inventor 11.

I installed mc & inventor on the new pc. Opened up inventor. The installer poped up again. I thought crap here we go again but all installed & works fine now. Thanks for the help though.
