System Configuration Troubles

I have loaded MCX4 on a laptop running Windows 7

64 bit os. There did not appear to any errors on the set up.

Now when I attempt to set up my system Configuration files the problems begin.

 

If I attempt to set any parameters the cursor will jump to any part of the window looking for a numerical input.

 

IE.

 

In the system configuration mode I will try to set my file data paths and file usage, the cursor will jump to the “ Number of files/

Folders to show in the MRU fields”. If I attempt to input a number in the field I will get the pop up stating the number must be in a certain range, if I place a number in this range I will get the same message.

 

In the colors menu, If I choose a color the numerical color Will pop up stating 0 to 255.

The system will default to any numerical input on any page and only canceling the page will get me out of it.

Has anyone seen or dealt with issue.

In the mouse properties, pointer options tab, do you have snap to activated?

Larry, Cjep may be right. I'm running Win 7 64 bit, don't have snap set and don't have that problem either. Is MC the only program you have that issue with?

No snap to is not activated.

gavetta, yes it is, what is odd also is when I

input a number in range It will see the input but still give the error must be between this and that.

Hows things in Boca

What video card are you running?

On your desktop shortcut, set Comapatibility

to

"Disable desktop compostition"

gcode did as you suggested ,disabled desktop

composition. It had no effect on the problem.

I am about to uninstall and reinstall to see if that helps. I will post results after reinstall.

Things are good here. How's things in Sunrise? If ya see Wasko, tell him I said hi,...Dempsey too if he's still there.

 

Like I said, I'm running Win 7 on my workstation here and haven't seen many problems at all, so far.... [knocks on wood]. You may want to try running in XP compatable mode and see what that does.

If you're doing an uninstall / reinstall sometimes it's a good idea to delete the root folder after running the uninstall through control panel. Just in-case there are any corrupt config files left over.

Yup, both of them are still here, we are just plugging away.

Tried running in compatable mode gives me the same problem.Tried installing X3 while I dont get the same error the box locks up at the same place.

Had enough of it today, going to shut it down and start again in the morning.

Do you ever get down this way? Got a great little
