o/t - high winds in LA

To all of you in LA - are you surviving the high Santa Ana winds? Jay - what are the winds like in Lancaster - Palmdale? Is the grapevine open?

Kathy I am in the Santa Clarita vally now a days.

Moved about 8 months ago.

 

But the winds are crazy the freeways or should I say the 5-fwy is backed up every were.

 

Cople a days ago when this started it blow the big pinetree over in my back yard.

Today it is just windy around Thousnad Oaks/ Ventura. Not bad. Yesterday was worse, blew some trees and power poles over but nothing serious.

 

OK to travel if you're not towing a camper trailer.

I will be staying here this holiday, but my guy is supposed to drive up here today. He called at 5:00 this morning telling me that he was going to wait and see when because of the winds. So Jay, tell me it's now calm / clear now in Santa Clarita! I'll check in with him at about one - I've been holding off because I don't want to hear "I'm still havn't left.." and than I'll be bummed out for the rest of the day. It's hard enought working today as it is..

Santa Ana resident here, went without power for 3 hours. Also a surge blew out my power supply and CPU on my 2 month new PC. Will be building new one again this weekend.

Hi Kathy, I hope your guy made it OK, the NE winds are back today with a vengence!! I'm in Ventura now and the winds must be 50+ mph!! And usually the winds are stronger in San Fernando and the I-5 Fwy areas.
