Truesolid 5 Axis Verification

I see there is a deal going on this add-on. Can someone tell me: Does this verification also do Truesolid 4 Axis verification? Or is it only for 5 axis?

Great, for 4/5ax work where the limits are mostly in the post (ie transformation matricies, etc...) how do you know with reliability that the tool path will come out correctly?

Have the post done by the dealer that knows what they are doing. this would be a great start.

I have a post from my dealer. Problems still occur though.

 

I have a fundamental issue with proving intermediate files - the machine runs gcode, and so this is what should be proven.

 

Jay and James - you have done nothing to sell the value of this add on, where is the benefit?

Andrew, If you are looking to prove the g-code that your post is generating then may I suggest an after-market add on such as the full version of the included Cimco edit. This will allow you to view the part "machining" with the code along side it. Also gives you the ability to make changes and edit on the fly. Very useful. And I think it may be what you are looking for.

So, this 4/5 axis addon, is avaliable from my dealer? If so, I'm keen to see a demo of it

Vericut is cool, but be prepared to drop 25-30k for it, and that doesnt include modeling the entire machine, toolholders, and things like that.

Actually Vericut now has a really reasonable package starting at around $4K. They are also working on something NOBODY else is doing...Creating SURFACES from the cut model (G-code) that take into consideration things like smoothing cusps from kellering, etc. WAY COOL!

Don't get your panties in a bunch Andrew, just pokin at ya. Actually I was going to suggest a standalone product such as Vericut or Predator. Though I am not familiar with the 4/5 Axis capabilities of Predator, I know Vericut will do it.

 

But you do need a quality post though. The 4/5 Axis True Solid Verify Add-On in MC works quite well. I've tried it a few times in Class on some 5 Axis Parts I did in the past. It would serve to prove out NCI which is often critical in writing a good 5 Axis Post.

Andrew has a good point about Verifying gcode versus NCI. His Integrex lathe will only allow 4axis simultaneous code. If he does not set his axis limits properly and he generates code with some 5 axis moves, the NCI verification will look fine, but the gcode verification and actual part will look totally differant.

Thanks for the validation, this was a tough lesson learned with ProNC. The tool path looked right on the screen simulation but the post wiped thru the part on a simultaneous xyzc retract move.

 

Question - will this trusolid work within lathe9/mill bundle?

Yes it will, in v9.1 it will also show the part turning without the addon for wrapped toolpaths.
