Engraving center lines

Hi

I want to engrave a drawing onto a clear acrylic overlay.

The drawing has center lines and I want to engrave these center lines onto the acrylic sheet.

I drew them on a separate level as center lines but when they are coded they are treated as one entity ignoring the gaps in the lines.

Is there any way of coding these center lines as they are represented on the screen?

The dashed lines are only graphicaly dashed in the database they have a start and end point like any other line. To actually machine a dashed line you need to break the line up into dashed pieces and chain the dashed pieces.

Thanks Allan, but I was hoping for a simpler solution.

I have about 100 of these lines and each would be broken up into many pieces.

I did try the Break - Draft/line and Break - Hatch/line but these did not work.

There exists the hard way .

Save your lines as grafic format (like bmp)

And use grafic convertor to convert them once more to vector file (Rast2vector ,Wintopo, Coreltrace etc).

It is not simple but works.
