V8.1

Greetings,

I've just installed V8.1 release 1 and have a couple issues. For some reason Alt Z no longer works, and when I verify, there is no toolbar that will allow me to run verify. Both of these functions worked in 8.1 beta 4, however 8.1 uninstalled beta 4 so I cannot go back to it without reinstalling. Wassup??!! Did they release too soon?

Are you on a network by chance?.....i had

the same problem with verify and with the

toolpath editor,i`d call em up and and the

buttons and such to control em would be gone,

as dumb as it sounds we just installed a new

network so as a stab in the dark i unplugged

my network cable and *poof* they appeared, i

plugged it back in and *poof* same problem i

i would try to verify or toolpath edit and

the buttons woould be gone......i played

around with different NIC card drivers and

got it to work and havent had a problem

since....give it a try if your on a network

maybe its the same thing......OS was WinME

Fartz,

Thanks for the reply. Unplugging the network is not an option here at HP. Our network guys would pitch a major fit if we started unplugging the network. Since we'll be going to the netHASP pretty soon I'd say that Mcam should make sure it works with pretty much all networks, especially one from a company that basically created networks.

Re: levels. I just installed V8.1 from the cd and i have the same problem. Alt z, screen change levels do not work. no levels manager box. (I loaded the jan 26 files). This was a clean install (new). On my computer, i updated my v8 to v8.1, and i don't have any problems.

Did any of you having these problems with dialog boxes etc... do the install from your server or did you do the install from the workstation?

Thanks,

camguy - A potential OCX registration problem was to have been fixed in the final release.

If the Levels Manager or File Get dialog boxes generate errors on you system, register MCInt.ocx and MCReal.ocx using the CNCReg util.

Select Start, Programs, Mastercam 8, CNCReg. Select the ActiveX/DLL Components tab. Highlight MCInt.ocx then select Register control followed by Apply. Repeat for MCReal.ocx.

Report back on this, and as a beta site contact [email protected] with the problem and particulars.
