Is it possible to export it as something else maybe a step, or parasolid. The only .dwg files I have ever imported are only 2d autocad drawings.I wasnt aware that autocad 2000 could do solid modeling, but I am not an autocad person, I quote from it but thats my extent with it.

Francis,

What version of Mcam are you using? V9 now supports solid info with the Autodesk converter. Also if it has been drawn in "paper space", it may be blanked in Mcam if that switch is checked on, as robk suggested. You can turn on blanked entities by selecting the Screen-Blank-Unblank-All-Entities. That will show all the entities on the screen if any were blanked. You should also make all levels visible from the level manager. Importing .DWG's sometimes places geometry on a different level that may have been made "invisible" prior to converting. I have had this problem. The solids in acad file were block referances. I think it was solved by the block referaces in the acad file having to be exploded to solid bodies. The solids could be converted using sat file export convert if you only need the solid bodies. I am not a acad user so some of my terminolgy may be wrong. My main message is that the acad file can be formated in a way to be better converted. Hope this helps
