MCX-5 file icon - displaying parts bitmaps

With all my MCX files, when opening a file in mastercam, I can choose the "Large Icons" settings and see the preview bitmap as the file icon. Since the start of MCX-5 files, all I get is the X5 logo. Is there a setting somewhere to have it save the image as the icon in MCX5?

Under Settings, Configuration, Files... there is a checkbox for "include bitmap in file when saving". I have it checked but like you I only see the pre X5 file thumbnails, for the X5 files I only see the X5 logo... but the preview works.

Check your config under Settings > Configuration > Files, look for the check box labeled "Include bitmap in file when saving."

 

That should do it.

I have that checked, but it does not work. Like Keith, I only see pre-X5 thumbnails. and X5 logos for the MCX-5 part files.

Hmm.. I just tried turning that off, saving a new file, and looking at it with "Open," and it only had the X5 icon. I then turned it back on, saved the file again and it had the bitmap when I looked at it with Open.

 

What happens if you choose "Preview" up in the upper-right while in the Open command, then click on one of the files? Does it preview or just have the big X5 logo?

My preview works, but I actually have to click on a file to preview it.

When I open a file and use large icons, it looks like this. The ones with a preview icon are MCX files and the ones with the big X5 are MCX-5 files
