Cutter compensation not successful

I am getting this error when trying to do a simple contour. I cant figure out what I'm doing wrong. Can someone please look at my file and let me know what I did? Thanks, Rich

The file is (cutter compensation not successful.mc9) in the mc9 folder on the ftp site. Meanwhile I will do a search to try to figure this out. I'm sure its a simple check box or something that I am missing. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Often it is because the lead in move is not long enough to turn on the Comp. Try shortening the move up.

There may not be enough ruogh out area to allow for comp without gouging.

 

IE:

.500 wide slot with a .499 End Mill using a .01 side finish pass. aint gonna fit.

I opened the file.

 

When I backplot the 2nd toolpath I get nothing and the coordinates displayed at the bottom of the screen show an X value of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

 

I did a regen path and everything seems fine. It backplots and aposts. I didnot get the comp error.

 

Are your systemunits metric after you open the file ?

I Get $$$$$$$$ also. When I regen I get the not successful error everytime. System units are in metric. I also see a yellow rapid line which goes way out in space.

My computer had a brain freeze. We opened the file on our 2nd seat and it regened OK, saved it and opened it on my computer and it worked. Thanks for your help, Rich

I've been having problems with my main seat(8.1.1 level 3)especialy with suface scallop and surfaceprojecting a pocket where it cuts like crap(all over the place).Yet if I regen on my other seat its fine.My reseller suggested renaming the config file so when I reboot mcam will make a new config file.It works fine for a while and then goes funny again.

I regenerated the toolpath and it looks fine.
