Back Spotface

I have a part that requires a back spotface and I can't find a process in Mastercam to do this. The tool that I am using is a custom made

backfacing tool with an offset indexable insert. I will need to move off center of the hole, plunge down thru hole, move back to center

and then feed back to depth of spotface.

 

Is there anyway to do this inside of Mastercam?

I don't think there is a "toolpath" made for that, but the Point toolpath should do it if you put the points in the right places...

Then manually place your code in.

If it's only 1or 2 spotfaces, the pulse handle on the machine is the fastest way.

Good time to brush up on g-code programming. Don't forget to M19 and move off center before rapiding out of the hole.
