X5 MU1Default tool setting reset back to default

Recommended Posts

Everything I have change in my toolpath settings in the control def are back to default.

I had went into the High speed and 2-d paths, when I installed X5 Mu1, and

set everything one by one like I had in X2...X3...X4.... such as ,

-full Verticle retract

-clearance planes

-Arc filter/ tolerance

-everything on the transitions page

and tons of other settings

Now every single path I go to create is BACK TO THE DEFAULT SETTINGS?!?!?! 2-d or 3-d

Monday I had this similar problem

http://www.emasterca...showtopic=61475

Is anybody else have this "release to release" recurring Annoying problem?

My only option seems to be to go back in to the machine/control definition and redo it all over again.

Is there a way to back this up so I don't have to randomly, and continually redo all these settings?\

Every time MC want to magically reset these settings.

Config file has the same problems

I must have done this over a dozen times in X4.

ANY help will be greatly appreciated/

Tony, these are tool paths defaults that I only know how to access when I open

X5 then the open the machine definition manager/control definition manager.

There is know way I can be changing something in X4 when I am making changes in

The X5 software.

Here is an Example. I have changed -minimum Verticle retract to Full Virticle Retract, unchecked output feed

changed clearence plane to 1.0.......and tons of other stuff. for every single path type!

They stick for a While, then ,like today, I go to create tool paths and MC somehow

changes back my SAVED changes to the Control def, back to default.....magically.

See Pic..

controldef.jpg

Just want them to stick after saving , permanently.

So once again I have to fix all this so I dont have CHANGE EVERYTHING for every path I make.

(at least it will work for a while)

What is the point of having .mmd's and control defs if when you pick

them they dont do what you want, need or expect.?

Why did, does it work for me for only a short time??

I only have one type of machine and when I pick the .mmd it gives me a post

that I have to use and all the default or changed settings within all the parameters that are

supposed to stick, so that I can use this software efficiently, Right?

CNC, is there a way to make them stick, permanently?

Can you develop a workaround or back up tool or chook that

can get the config/.mmd/.control/post to stick then back itself up and option to

relaod the 'working backups'?

Cheers

one thing i have found is dont change any defaults to the current MD/CD open a default one or something then make changes

Rick,I just noticed in your pic that you had a file open. I would try making changes with Mcam open and no file loaded. It might be trying to grab data.......

this is what i was trying to tell ya rick

I have seen a similiat issue before.

The customer would open a X4 file in X5 and it would pop up with a message to update his control def, which you should not do, just keep pressing cancel until the file loads and then reload your X5 machine def, otherwise the you will be overwriting your X5 control def with the setting from the X4 control def.
