DYNAMIC MILLING 304

I have a part "304ss" that is very dynamic milling friendly. Anyone recomend a good .500 dia carbide em and feed/speed/stepover values.

Use the database that Gcode linked above for a good reference, and as for endmills, I use Hanita Varimills in 304 SS with excellent results.

We also use HTC Hot Mills which are virtually identical to the Varimills, just a little cheaper in price.

The data base was the first place i went. i only saw one 304 and it was running on a c axis lathe.

As far as the Hanita and the Hot Mills go, in NON-stainless, I have been running them at double the speeds and feeds of what they recommend.

S6000 F60, works great for a 1/2" endmill.

For Stainless, I haven't really tried to boost up the speeds yet, but it's worth a shot.
