How do u Definine stock with a file

Can anyone of u hot shots give me the quick rundown on making the stock look like your part. i don't have time to read

and mess around. Plus I am mentally impaired ;o) I know I should know this after 100 years . But I never really thought about using it

in verify.

 

You know

 

1. do this - file or solid

2 do this

3 do this

4. ???

If you have the solid model in your mcam file, select solid as stock and then click on your solid model.

 

If you use stl, make sure you have it oriented correctly, then set planes to top. Go File >> save some >> click on model >> save as stl.

then, use stl as stock and select stl file.

Mike, what kind of geo are ya talking about? Some complex shape, or simple geo that can be revolved? 99% of the time I just have a rough cross section drawn, I pick revolve then select the chain that represents it...(takes me more time to pick the color I want to represent it)
