LEVEL ISSUE

Is this a bug ? When trying to copy geo that you want on another level the copy function does not always work but when you use the move function to move geo to another level it sometimes copies like the copy function should and sometimes it moves geo like it should. any ideas ???

I've never had an issue with copying or moving to a level.

Are you doing this inside the level manager? Or from the main screen?

It may be something to do with the size of the memory buffer. I bet that if you were to restart Mastercam, everything would be as it should. Or increase the memory buffer size in the config.

I have been having similar issues.

 

I just had a file open, attempting to copy a line and an arc from one level to another.

 

Could not get it to work.

 

Had this issue the other day, couldn't trace why it would work sometimes and why other times it would not.

 

Just closed the file, re-opened, seems to work now.

 

Buffer size in both insatnces was set to 50% of Physical memory, which was and is 4086 MB

Perhaps try setting your buffer to a percentage greater than 50. That seemed to work for me when I was having that problem.

I usually select the geometry to copy, then right click on the level manager button, select move or copy, pick the level to copy to and slect green arrow. I have never had any trouble.

funny thing is i always max out the buffer mem but when i went back in X5 had reset it back to 50 % so i put it at max and i will try again on the next program.

Also, Inside the level manager, I right click on any level, choose cut or copy, then right click on a different level and paste...

^^^ this also works fine for me all day everyday...
