bull nose tool display in verify

I'm running v9.1 mill level 3.

During verify I can't get a 1" dia. x .25 corner radius x 1" flute length x .5" shank (3" oal)to display corectly.

It displays as a straight shank bull nose tool, which is no good....I am trying to verify undercuts with this tool.

I've tried everything, tapered cutters display fine.

This is a simple tool,I shouldn't have to create a custom tool profile for this ...should I?

What am I missing?

Ken,

In the Verify configuration settings, in the bottom left corner is the Tool Display box. Is the switch on Auto or As defined? Also is the tool set for a Custom or Auto profile? HTH cheers.gif

I found this old thread and was wondering if anyone has any help so that I can get a 1.0 bullnose/.250 rad. to verify my undercuts properly. If I use a lollipop mill it will do the undercuts in verify correctly.

thanks for any help.

John,

thanks for the reply. I've never tried to draw a custom tool, so I searched how to do it. I thought I followed Colin's instructions, but when I tried to create a custom tool it said "problems with custom tool file or data." So I put the file on the ftp site in the mcx files and called it "button cutter profile."

If someone could take a look at it and tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!
