New desktop speed

I just got my new desktop. Dell T5500 i7 dual quad core Windows 7 64 bit 12GB ram dual Quadro 4000 graphics cards. So far, I haven't noticed any increased speed. Are there any settings I need to address to get this running faster?

When X6 comes out it will support 64 bit. You will notice a huge increase in toolpath calculation time.

Increased from what? You can take a look at the benchmark thread as see if you're in the ball park with your hardware. Also x6 will be 64bit!

Our IT guy didn't install all the sample stuff and I haven't had a chance yet. I wish I would have run the benchmark with the old system so I could see the difference. The more I use the new system I can tell it is much faster with standard settings, but when I change the verify settings to .001 tool tolerance, and set it to high quality and run verify-compare to STL, it is still slow.

OK, I just ran the benchmark and got 1 min. 48 sec. I guess I should quit my whining!

You should be much closer to 1 minute with that machine. Sounds like other factors are slowing it down.
