Cimco Edit

I've just noticed in the past few days, that my Cimco Edit isn't working properly. When I have a file already open in the editor, and then post another file (different name) it wont open in the editor. It is almost like it has a number of files open limit.

 

Likewise, if I am editing a post, and then I post process and in turn generate an error, typically the previous NC file will open in the editor, and the err file. However, all it does now, is open the ERR file.

 

Has anyone else encountered this? It is annoying, because I used to have the PST file open, plus other NC files open at the same time for comparison, while editing posts.

I use the version of cimco that comes with mcam all day everyday, never a problem. The most I will ever have open is 2 files for a file compare...

I've noticed this when I switched to Windows7 - are you also on win7?

Is it possible your default post settings got changed from "Ask" to "Overwrtie" ??

Yes, I'm Windows 7, and I did check the post settings. It is most definitely set to edit.

 

Interestingly, if I reboot the computer, it works better, but, it is slow to load. I'm not on a nethasp either

I have a inconsistant problem with when I go to post the new file in mc, it wont open in the editor unless it is completely closed down. But with some of my machine groups it works just fine. Is there anyway to fix this? or is this normal

I just been trying it. Sometimes it will open the NC file, and other times it wont. Sometimes it will open two or three files, and other times it wont open any more than one..

 

This is a bummer, as I really like the Cimco Editor

Yea I know what you mean. I just have to track the file back to where it is saved sometimes and open it from there.

Ok, well it appears that it *is* opening it. It is just taking a really really REALLY long time

 

I was just typing into a NC file, when the three files I had posted in succession, all opened simultaneously. Wow, something is really broken

Try turning off your anti-virus. I have proven on my pc that Microsoft Security Essentials causes a long delay (45 secs or more) before cimco will open.

I am still having this problem. I've set my Antivirus to exclude the Cimcoedit.exr, yet I still sometimes can only open one file at a time. And with my post setting to Edit, once a file is posted, it doesn't open in the editor.

 

Is anyone else having this problem?
