Problem with "import NCI" in X6 SP0

I just imported a 122MB NCI file with several simultaneous 5-Axis toolpaths, multiple contours, a few pockets, and some drilling and it all seems to be there. I'd have to go back in original Mastercam file to double check but I'm in the airport getting ready to board aplane.

What exactly is the "bug" are you experiencing?

All I did was right click in the Operations Manager, go to Mill Toolpaths, go down to Import NCI, search for my NCI file and it imported. I did get one warning on 1 toolpath about a wrong tool parameter. Is that what you experienced?

Importing this attached NCI file fails. Nothing happen. Please try it and let me know if you succeeded. Thanks.

It did not work for me initialy either so I did some "tinkering"... :D:p

The root problem is your path is longer than permitted... It's 173 characters long... I don't know what the limit is (guessing 128... would have to test). Definitely a bug. It shoudl be able to handle 256 minimum.

C:\0 PARTS\TO BE PROGRAMMED\109 - MMNDRL BLWNF LAYB MACHG 12-3LV - 1019089 REV 0\4_MASTERCAM FILES\ID SPIRALS\ID SPIRALS - 109 - MMNDRL BLWNF LAYB MACHG 12-3LV - 1019089 REV 0.MCX-6

So, to get going, edit the NCI file and shorten the path, save it and you can then import it.

Like gcode said though, send it in ot [email protected]. This should be addressed. In the mean time, you have a work around. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but it will work that way.
