60" Fadal with a Fanuc 18i ?

Hi Guy's

We are getting ready to pull the trigger on a 60" Fadal witha fanuc 18i control..

Has anyone here run one?

I have run a 60" Fadal with a HS88 control but this one has an 18i with a side mount toolchanger ?

not personally.

a Mag maint tech said that control had "very smooth accelerations compared to any Fadal control; screws should last"

 

many people make plenty of money on them. hope your not going to rough steel....but i guess you already know dat

Gottcha, Yeah THIS 60" machine is all table, Not Cat 50 with thru coolant

 

The theory is, Mold Bases a couple plates at a time with fixture offset's E1,E2, a couple of vices in the corner E3,E4 etc.

A pencil sharpner,coffee pot E5,E6

Are the fixture offset's E1,E2,E3,E4,E5,E6 ? probally not with the fanuc, just G54,G55,G56,G57.G54.1,G54.2 ...?

Watch out for the batch of Fadals that were 104D retrofits to Fanuc 18i.

Worked on a 8030 with Fanuc for a bit. Thru spindle coolant union disintegrated, spindle bearings went out. Other than that it was just fine. Yes, it's G54 etc, G54.1 P1 etc.
