cutting feed relevant to cutting edge

anyone know how to get mastercam to output the cutting feed on arcs relevant to the cutter edge instead of the centerline of the tool?

Good question, right now I use an excel spreadsheet to calculate that when helixing or circle milling holes close to end mill dia. Would be cool to have MC figure it out. Who knows, maybe there's already a way...

The highfeed button (in operation manager next to the post button) does this

It adjusts feed rate according to volume being removed and accel/deccel of machine when set up properly

Read up on Third Wave Systems. We have been using this software for over a year now and it works great... Just another option.

The high feed button does not take the cutter edge into account when calculating feedrate, im using optirough paths so my tool load is pretty much constant, i need to make the feedrate constant at the cutter edge to maximize the tool life

 

 

also tried the "adjust feed on arc move" this also seems to be based off the machine dynamics, (unless something is not set correctly)

 

to maximize the effectiveness of these dynamic milling paths the feedrate needs to be controlled at the edge of the tool not the center, and the bigger the tool diameter the larger this problem becomes

 

now that im cutting harder materials this is becoming increasingly important

 

so is there a post mod that could be done?? i wouldnt mind if all my posted milling paths would have the feedrate controlled by the tool radius on arcs
