X6 wont undercut with lollipop

I can't make X6 undercut with a lollipop cutter using surface finish contour.

The same geom in X5 works a treat!

 

Anyone else seeing this?

Just tried something quick here, and it works for me in X6. Simple undercut wall. errr I'm in MU1 however.

Silly question out of the way... you have turned off the gouge checks in Gap Settings I assume?

Boy I’m not sure what would have changed to cause that but your right and I can reproduce it here as well, with contour and flowline. I’ve submitted this as cnc00107235

I have machined many undercuts in X6 with a lolipop endmill using surface/finish/contour.

I get a warning "Tapered lollipop tool shape is not supported - a straight shoulder spherical tool will be used"

When I set the taper length to 0 in the tool definition the issue goes away.

Don't think this was the issue here but it might help someone.

In the tool data for that particular tool, you must be defining the tool with a taper shank. Make the shank straight and you should be good to go.
