Hi all

we are a shop with both milling and turning capabilities.

i am running mastercam mill at work but everynow and again the lathe guys need x,z i ,j and k figures for a job they may be turning.

usually they manually progam simple stuff but when you have rads that are tangent to angles ect they need the figures from me

i have a lathe post i modified so that when i post the nc code is in the correct format..

At the moment i just draw a sketch with arrows at the intersection points and jot down the fiqures accordingly.

is there a way to print my part with the arrows pointing directly to the nc code?

kinda like smart dimension but with the nc figures attached?

Thanks

Nothing exists to do what you want automatically.

What you can do without some kind of a custom coded add-in is this.

Use offset contour for the geometry to be turned.

You offset by the amount of the tool nose radius on the insert that will be used.

Next translate the offset contour in X & Z by the value the of tool nose radius.

The offset geometry that you just translated is the actual toolpath.

You can now use the drafting functionality to give you the coordinates of each point as well as the radii.
