Okuma Multus B400W - Multi Axis Machining

Hi there,

We've a got a die component we're considering trying to machine in our Multus. We'd like to tilt the B axis 45 degrees, and use the X/Y/Z/C to surface machine the part (to minimise the tool overhang)

Does anyone here have experience machining on the Multus like this? I've been having some trouble trying to get the tool motion and/or indexing correct. I'm interested in any suggestions.

Hi Mick,

My company is looking to purchase a Mazak Integrex or a Multus. As of today we are leaning towards the Multus. Can you give me some feedback on the machine? Was there a specific reason you guys went with Okuma? Any info would be great we need to make a decision in the next week or so.

Thanks

Jack
