Hello,

We have a Haas VF TR Series 5X Mill.. We are using the Generic Haas VF-TR_Series 5X Mill post file and GENERIC HAAS VF-TR_SERIES 5X MILL control file. For some reason it posts like below with 1 deg increments B axis moves.. Is there a setting for this? It only happenes on certain programs.. This is a simple mill four flats on a cylinder. So it uses front, back, right ,left planes.....

X, Y, Z - A, B, C

A Rotates around X Axis

B Rotates around Y Axis

C Rotates around Z Axis

You're going to have to create planes most likely. Besides, if it's "... mill four flats on a cylinder...", you can just contour that from the top view and be done.

It is four flats in the center of the cylinder channel only.. So the flat is not the whole side just a channel..

Thanks

Ok created four test planes front,right,back,left... It still posts the 1deg inc... Also I posted it with this post Generic Fanuc 5X Mill and it didn't post the 1deg increments like the Generic Haas VF-TR_Series 5X Mill did..

This should be a fairly simple solution.

The Haas VF_TR Post has the following variables set:

brk_mv_head : 1 #Break the 5 axis moves to remove gouge
brk_max_ang : 1 #'brk_mv_head' maximum angle move, applied if chordal
#calculation angles moves are greater (negative disables)

The first variable 'brk_mv_head', when set to '1', tells the post processor to break up large rotary moves into smaller moves, to prevent the reposition move from potentially damaging your part. Setting this variable to '0' will disable that post feature, but you should be aware that it could cause other problems.

The next variable 'brk_max_ang' is set to '1', and this is the break-up tolerance in degrees. This is why you are getting 1 degree increments on the moves.

A potential solution would be to leave the 'brk_mv_head' set to '1', but change the max angle setting to '15' or maybe '30' degrees. This would still cause some extra rotary moves, but would also help prevent large rotations with XYZ moves.
