I am trying to create a standard pocket program but I want it to start from a specific place so it done hit or ramp into anything, I for the life of me cannot get it to start a a specified point. I have created a point told it to align ramp from entry point and still it starts where it wants, any suggestions.

Terry the ramp is not necessarily going to center on the point, if I select a point that doesn't allow the ramp use the min/max and stay within the X,Y clearance it will plunge also depending on the roughing strategy the ramp may plunge. If I'm using a parallel spiral and the point is offset from the center of the pocket the ramp will plunge, however if you change the X,Y direction in the ramp utility to 90* then the ramp entry will align with the point and run perpendicular to the main direction of the parallel spiral.

Order of the point/chains is not necessary.

Order does matter on some toolpaths, it is a better to have consistency.

Yes some paths will work fine in any order, other paths will skip entry point if point is below chain. therefore if you always put points above chains you never have to worry about it not doing what you expect.

Yea the ramp is not nessary, I just wanted it to start every cut at the same point so that I do not come down on top of the stock. I am working on a base casting for a trim die with lots of diffrent surfaces at diffrent levels and clearance is an issue on these.
