Hi everyone - Could I please get some help with this 4th axis

cam . Am I better of using the rolldie toolpath or the 3D .

I can't tell witch would work better . I don't have the time

to experiment on the machine .I saved the file in X6 / Jim2

I'm using X6 . Thanks for any help

Kevin, you have not provided enough information for someone to effectively help I pulled the file on the FTP and for 4th axis only rolldie would move all 4 axis. This toolpath is meant to keep the wall vertical when cutting the slot on a 4th axis machine. The idea is using a roller bearing that can go through the slot and not bind up when run through the slot machined. The 3D toolpath is not going to work and will only cut the slot without taking Y axis moves into account to make it where a roller can pass through it. Without more information hard to know which one will give you the results you are looking for.

 

That is all I got and need to get ready for Church will check after service tonight or back in the morning.

The print says Cam path ... there's a eject and load cycle .

I don't have 5 axis so my 2 options are 3d path or rolldie .

The edges have to be square .. so I would think I will have

to go with Rolldie and hope for the best .
