Need to reset default for opening STL files

Mastercam does not make any file association for .stl files.

I do not know if a windows update would change the file association of the .stl files, i kind of doubt it.

All installs of Windows have the .stl file associated with IIS by default, so if it was changed to something on your system it was not done by Mastercam.

The certificate trust list association has no negative effects for me as I would typically open the .STL file from within Mastercam as opposed to launching Mastercam from double clicking on a .STL file from windows explorer.

Thank you for your reply, Allan. After posting, I realized that it was the same as before, I just hadn't noticed it. For file type, it says Certificate Trust List, I don't know what IIS is? I thought the MS updates caused the change, not Mastercam. Microsoft had just installed about six or seven updates at one time, and I thought that it had caused the problem.

Of course you are correct, I need to open STL files from within Mastercam.

Thanks again for your time.

Hi guys I recently found a small FREE program that accually views the STL files, its called STL viewer its and easy google search and is available for download. Just thought you might want to know that you can sort through all the old STL files without viewing them all through MasterCAM.
