Is there a way to view and send files to a CNC device from a PC that does not have Mastercam installed on it? Is there something that mastercam can supply to install on that PC to do what we want?

cimcoedit, comes with mastercam.

you should be able to see your g-code program generated by mastercam, send and receive to and from your pc.

You can use a vast bunch of soft icluding Mastercam Communicator .

 

Also the old versions of Cimco Edit had licence for 2 seats so you can use old copy of CImcoedit.

Also a lot of software that can talk using RS232 interface including Windows Hyper terminal

I personally tried Hyper Terminal and it works .

It has no CNC specific stuff but in most standart cases it works O.k

And you can dounload a lot of freeware from internet for this tasks .

Try to write in more clear way!

 

Can you specify who this it and with what and where do you sent it.

 

Otherwise here you will find some desperados with a will to laugh ,a joke in the pocket and a broad silly smile on a face.

Who is "it" ?

 

You need to send "alot" more info to get specific help here from these "nice" folks

 

Don't get mad ok ? Remember this is "free" help.

Or contact your dealer and buy a seat of draft real cheap and you can have communications and they can view the file if needed or get dim..

One problem you might be having is spaces and a name greater than 8 characters. Think you have got good advice from the other memebers.
