What do you guys do when you want to show on a tool setup sheet the new origin of the operation for the setup person without always showing the system origin?

I have my view port XYZ axis turned on in my config so while I may have 2 origins, only 1 of them has the XYZ gnomon

 

I rely on that, it has been communicated

 

If that's still an issue for you, I have seen people change the system origin to the background color

I had a hard time with this but found as long as I brought in my stock in the Top View of Mastercam Views, and then Create WCS and views as needed, complete my 1st operation Programming

run Verify and get things as I want them, I then Exit Verify set my WCS back to Mastercam Default "Top" and run Verify again, and now when complete save the STL, when you return to Mastercam for your next operation with a new WCS the stock will be repositioned to suit just like your Part File

I have tried that but when you have the Model or the stock display on it doesn't matter what color you make it. I guess I'm looking for maybe a way the just show an origin symbol with out the system origin on but not sure how to go about having that accessible on each job I program.

AFAIK, not possible

 

The only other thing I can suggest is draw the gnomon and import where you need, on it's own level, you can turn them on and off

I make the gnomon for each operation first, then make a plane by geometry. This ensures that what shows up on the setup sheet matches the toolpath origin, and also allows me to move or rotate that plane if I want to by transforming the gnomon geometry.

Thanks guys for the input I'll see how it goes it would be nice to have the feature built into the software instead of creating it all the time.

Jay. How did you get the gnomon triad to show up? I tried it in the HLE, flipped a few switches, and nothing happened. Even set display to wireframe.

MCM, The verisurf Gnomon should show up on your activereport if it is visible in MCAM when you create the setup sheet AFAIK

OK. I was using the default set-up sheet in the HLE, which btw, is fairly decent. The gnome shows up in the stock set-up view, not the machine view and I did not see it until I created a set-up sheet in ISO view. I don't know if the Verisurf add on works with the HLE. May be I'll mess with it some after I finish my next project.

The verisurf add-on I am preaty sure will not work with the HLE but give it a try. I have to say I have not tried it.

I guess I need to install a copy of the HLE on one of my lappytops sense you can run both HLE and standard versions on the same.
