Single direction contour chaining?

Hi,

 

Is there a way to have all contour chains in one axis machined in the same direction? We have an issue with deflection in a machine and need to always machine in the same direction (from left to right). If the chaining results in machining in both directions we lose accuracy. The items being machined consist of many chains and it is not practicle to manually select the chains so we can control the direction the cutter is travelling, we need to be able to window select the chains and have Mastercam create the chains, but only maching in a single direction.

 

Any aware if this is possible?

I have tried that, but it still chains in both directions.

 

I am using a very old version of MCAM (MC9). That option is there, but it doesn't seem to work.

Well not running V9 I would have to dig out my one laptop that has it.I will try later.

The other thing that's helpful on that screen is to check the box that says "Start chain at point". It'll look at a chain, and if there's a point at one end of it, that's where it will start. Of course, without knowing what geometry you're using, it's hard to see if that would be helpful
