need help drawing custom tool & holder

I'm trying to draw custom tools & holders in X5. I can get it to work when I draw the tool only, but not when I draw the tool holder in too.

 

243-131216_0 (T19).MCX-5 is the tool only.

 

C6C4-0032.MCX-5 is the holder only. I just downloaded it from Command's website and modified it. This is not a holder I'll be using in production... I'm just trying to learn how to do this so I started with an existing drawing.

 

T19 ASSEMBLY.MCX-5 is the tool and holder combined.

 

T19 TEST 1.MCX-5 is a file I made to test the tools with. There's just 2 circles in it that I'm using to verify the tools. I'm clicking on create new tool, undefined, custom file.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I always made the tool and holder as one in X5. In X7 you have the ability you are looking for to a point, but in X5 you had to make it as a tool could not get the separate.

That's what I've done in T19 ASSEMBLY.MCX-5. Just can't get it to work for some reason. I've attached a snip of what it looks like.

I would do them separately and develop your holders. When you bring them into Vericut it seems to work well.

Make sure everything is projected to the Z0 and get ride of the center-line and see if that does it for you. If all else fails make sure you have no splines only lines and arc and have used combine view to make sure all the arcs are on the correct plane.
