Haas machine soft limits / work zone

Recommended Posts

Chris,

Build a geo file of the exact table and a 3d box the shows the position and size of the trunnion.

Use that as a base line for all the work on the other side of the table.

watch out for the coolant noozles ( and air if equipped) on the head of the machine.

That now becomes you violation zone.

anyone who can manually crash a CNC might want to consider training with one of those sticks with the fuzzy thing on the end.

you might also consider installing a secondary home button on the haas. it will move machine to an easily designated position AFTER auto retracting z.

if one really wanted to go crazy you may be able to floppy-load parameters that tell the machine it has half the travel it actually does.
