Hi guy's,

I just realized tonight, that I actelly have more than one program editor with mastercam.

I have been running PFE32, but came about Cimco edit, wow that looks alitlle different, and something I would like to check out, but I have a hard time getting it to my Haas Minimill (using disk). In PFE32 I just saved it as program 1000 and file type *.*, then it greated a 1000 file, and the machine are taking that one, but can not find a file type in Cimco that the machine want to accept. Any ideas?

Also you you guy's would give me some feedback on the two editor's, wich one is best.

Thanks

Lars

Sounds like the best way to fix your problem is in your post by adding:

sextnc #NC extension override

This will auto name your extension to your file when posting.

Inside your Cimco Editor you can custom different machines with different extensions by renaming the .mac found here

C:Mcam91CommonEditorsCeditCNCEdit4Cfg

Then when saving or getting a file slide the selection bar down to your required machine.

eg:(rename hh.mac to Haas VF4.mac and make the following changes)

[GENERAL]

TYPE = Haas Vf4

DESCRIPTION = HAAS

BASICTYPE = VF4

###############################################################################

#

# Load/Save

#

[LOADSAVE]

AUTOSAVETIME = 0

AUTOBACKUPTIME = 0

SAVEEXT = (Type Extension Here)

LOADEXT = (Type Extension Here)

SAVEPATH =

LOADPATH =

DEFAULTTYPE = 0

[LOADSAVE DEFAULT]

AUTOSAVETIME = 0

AUTOBACKUPTIME = 0

SAVEEXT = (Type Extension Here)

LOADEXT = (Type Extension Here)

SAVEPATH =

LOADPATH =

You will have to restart your editor and

Remember to back up your file for safety.

Hope this helps

Lars,

Cimco Integration is the company behind the CIMCO Edit in Mastercam. They are a developer located in Denmark, which is why they support Danish, and why you're becoming homesick. It is only the OEM version of their editor but it is far better than PFE32 (Pitiful Frellin' Excrement 32). You can upgrade the OEM editor for the Professional version which includes math functions and Backplot of the NC file. cool.gifcheers.gif
