5ax part location check move

When I'm running a 5x 3+2 part, I usually program a .010 spot drill or something on top/back/right/left, just to check that the part is on the machine the same location as mastercam. Anyone else got any location validation tricks?

I spot it in Top plane, then 3+2 and the spots have to match.

That validates my Mastercam. setup as well as the machine's setup

Years ago a company we worked out used alum check pins. The programmer put a process into every tool to check to for a tool. Then the operator had a way to check the tool and location. That was really needed since we were programming from a pivot length of tools. Now with all the different things machines can do I think the way Gcode it talking about seems to be the best. It is pretty straight forward and I used it when I programmed part for his company. Anything that takes a test cut or moves the head or part to different positions is the best chance you have to make sure. I have to be honest most times I just trust it is where I thought it should be and get it done. Be nice to have a probe and go take a test cut and then verify that place and position with the probe. Biggest thing is make sure what you want is something you can check to and confirms enough stuff to give you certainty tools and part is where you expect them to be.
