Okuma probing

Recommended Posts

by G10 P.... do you mean G68 coordinate rotation?

If you are using the renishaw macros and also use a G68 co-ordinate rotation it will not work, or it didn't for me atleast on my mazaks.

There is a 3 point bore cycle with the renishaw macros that you can specify the angles where it probes.

Hope that helps and that i actually answered your question!

I know from experience that the Renishaw macros or Okuma macros will not work while in G10. Your two choices are a custom macro that calculates single G30 probe hits based on a formula and then find diameter/center/etc or the Renishaw Prod+ will allow just about as many points in a circle as you want. We use the stand alone Renishaw Prod+ here and it is great. Well worth the investment.

I completely agree that it is well worth the investment. We had only one machine that had a probe on it, for years it was just that machine, using the in-control macros. Then one day we decided to splurge and outfit another machine with a probe, and got Prod+ for it. It was such an amazing improvement that within a few months we bought *four* more probes.
