Spring pass

Because you can just use multi-pass. Set the number of finish passes to two
and the spacing to zero.

This does not work beacause if I want to remove .010" on my finish pass and not material on my spring pass then I need to have to different values. Of course, there sre some solutions to it but the point is that programmers who use standard toolpaths like contour all the time would prefer having the spring pass option added.

This has been a topic for so many years and still In House Sloutions does not pay attention to many users asking for simple additions to the software.

Oh I see. Well if you just wanted to start a post to bash/complain about Mastercam, you're on the wrong forum. Forum.mastercam.com is where the CNC Software devs hang out.

When I set my settings to match your screen shot and back plot my tool path It does three passes at zero meaning the first pass does not leave .010.  Look at your back plot and let me know if you get the same result.  I normally have to do two separate contour operations to achieve the result jorges is looking for. I do the first contour operation and leave .01 with no multi passes then I do a second contour operation and have two finishes passes at zero.  I would like to be able to avoid  two operations but have not found a way that works.  Been using  mastercam since version 6 and I don't mean X6.  Also let me add I am the biggest advocate of mastercam and I am definitely not bashing the software it has been my lively hood since the 90's.  I am just lookng for a way to avoid two operations.

To get the results that you are looking for, set the roughing pass at 1 and for .01 like you want but then set finish pass for 1 or 2 and with a value of 0.00001. The results will be the same. The tool is technically cutting on the 2 passes but not enough to cause any additional push-off and will remove the original push-off that you typically encounter. Used this a lot on 17-4 with excellent results.
