Dynamic milling x8

We used to use this path a lot in x6. It just doesn't seem to work in X8.

I will try to explain.

We manufacture electrodes, which are generaly from a cylinder of copper.

we rough out the outside form with the 2d dynmaic core mill, and this workedd perfectly for us before x8.

Now when we select the outer form and use the stock model the path just cuts all the way to the middle, completely destroying our electrode..

I have watched the demo video of this function, but it just does a plane mill spiral type operation.

anyone else having problems with this new cycle?

It took me a few tries to get the hang of the new Dynamic mill, but now that I understand it, I love the new way.

If you have a stock definition defined, Mastercam should automatically pick that up. All you have to do is select "Avoidance Region" and then select your electrode profile.

If you do not have a stock definition, you have to select "machining region" and select the chain that represents your stock.

Thanks guys, I tried everything to get this to work...It now works. Just have to make sure I have stock defined ( always do ) and just choose the Avoidance region. I'm a bit happier now with X8.

Now the next subject, is going to be the pain in the neck WKS system..
