Re- naming post file

I made some changes to a post. I want to keep the orginal so I re-named the one i changed but i get a post error. Something about a missing binary file.  I assume this is because another file is linked to this this post for it to run correctly. I thought it was the .psb file so i  copied and changed it to same  name but I stil get a error when posting. The post is for c-axis lathe. Not sure where to look next?

Find the originally named .psb, copy that and rename to match your post

Yes, names must be exactly the same, also make sure you got the right psb to start with

 

If you started with 

 

Generic Fanuc 5X Mill.pst

Generic Fanuc 5X Mill.psb

 

 

Make certain you are using the 

 

Generic Fanuc 5X Mill.psb to rename

There is a c-hook on the Mastercam website that will rename and associate machine & control defs, posts as well as correctly set the file mapping. You'll need to be logged in though because its on the software downloads page.

When I back up my Postability posts, I also have to copy the .LIC file for it to work.

name.psb

name.lic

You will only have that if it is a Postability file, it should be in the post folder

 

If it's a standard Mastercam set of files, you will not have that file
