anyone having problem with the new update for X8 ,  mine wont start, invalid exe.  did an uninstall and reinstall still have the same problem. restored my computer to an earlier date got x8 running again, then did the update again and it quit working again , same error invalid exe.  any suggestions?

I'd contact your reseller......

 

Most but not ALL times I have seen this, a cracked version of some kind of software was running.....the Hasp lock won't run when it detects anything that may be cracked, whether or not it's Mastercam

i did contact the reseller but we still haven't got it working. all my soft ware is licensed , but everything was working great before the download .

Anti-virus software....has it been disabled when you are installing the software?

you must not have update 2 and 3 installed when you install update 4.

Update 4 only needs to have X8 Hotfix 1 installed, it's cumulative after that

Also don't forget to delete the registry key for X8...

 

I just went and re downloaded the X8 64 hotfix 1 web installer from the website, reinstalled, and waited for the little X update to show up on the taskbar and clicked it....when the popup comes up...

 

....close down any instances of X8 before applying patch...

yep it was the anti virus software. had to uninstall it. then the update worked.

Can I ask what A/V software is being used?

 

It may help someone else if they find this thread and run the same A/V scanner

Yeah it was called Comodo. this is the first problem i had with it  all the other updates worked fine.

I been having problems with Norton as of late....

 

I finally had to set exceptions to all Mastercam folders...
