THE BEST TOOLPATH

HELLO EVERYONE !!!!

 

 

I want to use  One of the      surface high speed tollpath for my  part . material is ss 304  .I want to use  .5 DIA carbide enmill full depp  (1 inch high part).

which will be the best??? what step over and feed and speed I should???

I got a program from Helical Solutions called Milling Advisor. It was free and VERY helpful. For stainless I usually take their recommendations and cut them down to 85-90% of their SFPM values.

I like this toolpath.

FSWizard pro on my phone is usually really close.

220 SFM

.001 FPF

.035 Step Over

You'll be plunging outside the stock so crank that feed up, 100,200, anything big IPM.

Really concerned about chatter in that sharp radius, try some different trochoidial options if it does.

How many pieces do you need? I might try a plunge/step technique in that radius, if I needed heavy production.

Use a 2D Dynamic Mill tool path. 15% stepover, full depth, and with the proper end mill you will easily be under a minute cycle time. I would recommend going to a smaller endmill so you don't get chatter in the radius.
