X9 - HST Pencil Issues

Were there changes made from X8 to X9 in regards to the HST Pencil toolpath?  I cannot get a clean toolpath like in X8.   I am using a 1/16 Rib ball cutter for this toolpath.

If I make the shank size the same as the cutting diameter I can get a descent toolpath.  Is the shank size now incorporated into the calculation of the HST toolpaths?

Thanks!

Brian, from what I have read yes the holders are now being considered if checked. If not checked then I understood it was supposed to ignore them. Could be a bug might do a .z2g and report it.

I had similar issues in a different toolpath. I talked to my reseller and they said there were some changes in X9 involving the shank of the tool. If I remember correctly, I changed my cutting length on the tool parameters page to be a little longer than my full depth of cut and that fixed the issue. I had the tool drawn in correctly to begin with but it wouldn't cut all the way to depth. hth

I got a response from QC this morning:

Hi Brian

I spoke the product manager on this.
I asked him if there was a setting that we were missing.

It is a bug that is on the schedule to get fixed. When? I don’t know.
He said for now, do exactly what you did. Change the tool geometry.
